So I stumbled on a short article a few days back...about a tablet thats on our way from Google....under the now household name of nexus. If you guys don't know how important the nexus name is to Google, let me name the 3 devices....the HTC nexus, the Samsung nexus s, and the now latest flagship under the moniker....the Samsung galaxy nexus....but we dont have a nexus tablet do we?
Now the rumor is that the nexus tablet will be produced by Asus...when this article stated that I just about fell out of my seat...the rumor also states that the tablet will land under a nice price tag...199$ I doubt is true but I can imagine the tablet being 299$ that would place this tablet under the iPad but sadly over the kindle...but it would be the flagship Google/Android tablet ... that label itself would help it to snatch away some of the 70% of the tablet market that the ipad has squarely cornered.
Lets visit this from a deeper point of view shall we? The nexus line of devices have always led the way for any android device to come after it....the nexus s happened to be the first gingerbread device, with the galaxy nexus being the first to have ice cream sandwich. Now does this mean that there will be android 5.0 on the tablet? Or will there be an optimized 4.x? And how does Samsung feel being a great tablet producer, building two nexus phones...and losing this great device? The thing is they wanted premium quality with affordability and sadly Samsung would not have delivered these demands...I hate to see Samsung lose this tablet but I love Asus picking it up....ill wait and see if this truly comes to the light.....ill give it until august of this year to land....lets cross our fingers folks.
