When solid apps....Go bad.

Well I was just on my twitter for android app, actually this was a few days back. Anyone who uses this app I'm sure you're having the same issues. Well the guys up at twitter HQ decided to do a slight overhaul of the ui. I do not agree with it. And this brought me to the thoughts I always have when a solid app, is taken south by "updates".

There have been many apps, android, ios, and blackberry I'm sure that have turned consumers sour. Most of the time it tends to be official browsers not third party browsers, either way it goes it can turn a consumer very sour. Now I say this because a few days ago twitter ran out their update, which was supposed to enhance our experience, and help the app move smoother. They changed around the ui a bit, but now when I go to refresh my feed? I force close. This happened to Facebook a while back when the completely overhauled their mobile app...and speaking of Facebook they are cramming too much down our throats now, I've seen complaints of Athens new update installing fb chat, fb messenger, the fb app, and a personal camera? That is entirely too much now. And now they're having you logged in at all times, if I used my fb I wouldn't want people thinking I'm available to instant chat....that's just doing too much. And I like how they purchased instagram and now they have their own instant upload camera app? Doesn't that seem slightly coincidental?

I remember when twitter first overhauled the app, and it received rave reviews (for the record I'm talking version 2.0) from consumers this was right around the time Twitter started its first explosion. Better ui, faster refreshing, it did what we needed it to do for our Twitter to make it through the day. I say this because some apps do it correctly and then there are some apps that do major overhauls that make us go.....WHHHHYYY. even a smaller known app setcpu (an app for root users) did an overhaul that incorporated ics like functions into the app...I feel they should give u the option to use the ics wheel but hey, I'm just a consumer right?

I understand you can't keep an app the exact same forever, and neither am I asking that. I also understand bumps will happen along the way. And maybe its that I'm rooted using a custom rom, but even those out there using stock ROMS are having these issues, so twitter get it together and stop touching a good thing.   Please?

Chrome to the public...

If you guys follow me on Twitter I went on a slight rant earlier today. Im gonna reiterate some of the things I sadly don't have a printer at home, and I was forced to run to the library to print some important documents I needed.

FIRST off...the computers at this specific branch are still on sad XP...many other branches in the city run windows 7, or at least vista. Now with these machines on the older but yet still very widely supported and stable XP, there are still some issues. By it being a public computer the installation choices are locked out, so sadly installation of 3rd party software is impossible. I couldn't even plug-n-play my evo 3d as external memory. Which truly hurt my feelings. Second, by the machines being older models, pure speed, is not a quote you use for these computers. 3rd by it being on a public network, so many individuals are on it, now I don't know how many may have been on it at once, but sometimes it lagged.

This is where I thought of an idea, public chrome Os...brought to you by Google. Chrome Os so far has been a bust, it doesn't have the possibility to be a full Os that you rely on at home. But? Place it in a public place...integrate public logins, into the cloud. Where data, documents, and anything else you desire into it. The chrome store would boom thanks to this, whenever you log in? Your chrome apps automatically become available via stream. I can see this being amazing and of great use to school students also...too bad this is just an idea I thought of and will never come to light.

I just was thinking, ease of use, speed. Logging in would be simple and everything would be right where you need it, its just as chrome browser is now, so fluid and provides such ease. And the chrome store is so amazing. I mean...maybe someone in the r&d department at Google will see this...that's so farfetched though. So for now I just have this as an idea....an idea of consumer looking to make my peers lives easier.

Verizon is making a push.

Just when I thought Verizon was all Motorola? The announcement is made for the HTC incredible 4g, a rumor for the Samsung galaxy s3 being exclusive...and a quad core competitor to the galaxy note from HTC....which is rumored to have an rgb 1080x1920 screen...packed into 5+ inches...hold on what did I just type? Yes 1080x1920 if that isn't mindblowing, I do not know what is.

Hot off the heels of the launch of the one x, Verizon made the move we all knew was coming the HTC incredible 4g...ics loaded of course with lte packed in. The build is pretty much the same as previous incredibles with of course spec bumps. You know 4.3 inch screen, nice camera the regular. Not too much has been released but I'm sire its packing imagesense. I mean HTC would have a riot if imagesense stayed exclusive to the one series when they have it built into sense 4.0 but then again the cameras they're building into the devices nay not be so profit manageable? Ill look into this today.

But onto something I scraped the other day, Samsung revealed the teaser trailor for the next galaxy s device claiming, albeit indirectly,  that's it will be the most beautiful screen to grace a mobile device. And with the rumor mill spinning saying its a new type of rgb amoled mix? Im leaning towards high definition television type screen.  Something comparable to a TV screen of 120hz refresh or higher, where the color depth is absolutely mind blowing. The screen reportedly comes in between the not and the gnex at 4.8in if I'm correct. This will be a huge landing for Verizon, just as the gnex was back in October( wow its already been 6 months since the gnex landed) and with the viable competitor for the note they can really pull in some new subscribers.

Which brings me to this new device, which will of course have quad core packed in (what super device won't from now on). Rgb 1080x1920 packed into 5+inches....all I can do is salivate. The rumor is it will pack sense 5.0 which does that mean that we'll see android 5.0 also? Is that what we're hinting at? Why not 4.5 why a complete jump with no intricate decimals? this also sends. Few thoughts into my head about research and development for htc far as their tablet ideas. It been awhile since we've had a full tablet from them, and maybe the tween device will give them the ideas they need to build more successful tablets. Now the screen isn't as much of what I'm stuck on, its the sense version? This phone won't launch until fall? Which would be around the time a full Os update will be ready? Will it be 5.0? Or a decimal version as we've seen in the past...ex (1.0, 1.5, 1.6, 2.0, 2.2, 2.3) which a had separate codenames but were also major overhauls to the Os known as android. I cant see a 4.1 being produced and headlined on the device which would mean....what I was talking to someone about? Google purchased Motorola? Might that be the next headlined device for android? The next in the nexus line of devices?  I digress...but sense 5 is the rumors. Lately rumors have been coming true in the world of technology so...we'll see around autumn whenever its officially announced.

Web browsers. Home and mobile.

When it comes to web surfing we have many choices. From the windows native internet explorer, to the Mac native safari. In between we have opera, Firefox, chrome, and oh safari even has a windows variant...Good going apple. Now when it comes to mobile? Each Os has the corresponding variant, windows phone of course has internet explorer, ios mobile safari. Android has a native unnamed browser, but if you're blessed with ics you can download beta chrome mobile. In between there is Firefox mobile, opera mobile in two flavors actually. Dolphin, which is also in 2 flavors...the lesser known skyfire and many smaller branded web browsers.

But which browser is for you? Aren't all browsers the same? They take us on the internet? Stream our videos, download our applications, music and other such things. Well today I came here to focus more on the once great Mozilla Firefox. Is seems lately that Firefox has released updates for a failing browser, we're up to version 12? Version 12!!! We just were graced with 10 a few months ago what can you possibly be releasing so often? And for the mobile browser its so sub par. I remember years ago Firefox was the nations go to browser, I guess the release of chrome dethroned them. As a matter of fact Mozilla in general was the go to developer for email clients and web browsing experience. Chrome and the chrome store with its build has taken a nice chunk into that. Even safari in windows has made a difference in what browsers we all use.

More about mobile Firefox. I haven't downloaded it in quite awhile so ill keep my critical comments to a minimum. But when flash officially landed on android, skyfire and opera supported flash plugins early, then the development and release of dolphin happened and out of the gate they supported flash within the browser. I remember when I first purchased my evo, the sole reason I wanted it was flash support, and I was so stoked to download Firefox on it. And once I did....no flash support. I remember being so disappointed in the legendary desktop browser not properly transitioning into its mobile greatness. The browser was clunky, somewaht unresponsive. And for the life of me I couldn't grasp the thought of why Mozilla had a stable and a beta release in the market at all times. The beta didn't support flash either. ... I speak on all of this because recently Mozilla spoke on transitioning to building apps on html5 code. I believe this is a beautiful idea, but at the rate they release apps? I want them to take their time on whatever they decide to build. I don't understand how this once great team rushes their greatness? I can't wait for their first line of Apps be it android, or ios.

When will IP TV finally catch hold of the general public?

From YouTube, to world star hip hop. There are many media websites that we can navigate to and get our daily fix of video, be it clips from our favorite shows, or our favorite internet personalities...mines being Ray William Johnson and smosh on YouTube, as many of yours is also I'm sure. Some consumers who don't agree with rising cable prices have decided to ditch cable altogether, many resort to Netflix subscriptions, hulu, roku. There are many alternatives.

Well a while back rumors surfaced of Google building a fiber optics line. With the talents that Google have and the rumor of them building a fiber optics line...the inevitability of Google cable is becoming clear. But this isn't what we're here for, I'm speaking on IP (internet protocol) TV. We have the services that I've mentioned, but how are they brought to us? Lines of settop boxes I.E. apple TV, and Google TV. Roku has its own line of settop boxes. Now for awhile now I've been asking myself, why is it that consumers haven't caught on to these services? Well I guess its up front costs, the boxes begin around 99$ and the services have a subscription charge. But I kind of view it this way, Netflix is 8$ a month. Im not sure how much hulu is. But with hulu having access to current episodes of your favorite television series yo can truly substitute a cable subscription with that. I guess it all depends on how many other cable channels you frequent besides the normal affiliates the A&E's and USA's of the world.

Its only a matter of time before IP TV catches on, HBO go just hopped on the bandwagon, albeit you need a cable subscription for that, I feel its only a matter if time before they branch it into a full on demand service without needed cable subscriptions. The home gaming systems are the first wave of the settop boxes offering applications for the major services I.E Netflix and hulu. Some consumers I've spoken with recently have admitted they killed two birds with one stone buying a gaming system for the family and then purchasing a Netflix subscription. The idea is ingenious as it definitely is the current wave to ride. Soon we will all hop on the bandwagon, I know I have already.

Ivy bridge? Its truly taking over.

If you guys do not know, ivy bridge is the new generation of CPU for Intel. Everywhere I go now...its ivy bridge this, ivy bridge that. I guess sandy bridge is to soon be forgotten. Acer has made the bump to ivy bridge in their desktop units, and now ...with the abilities of ivy bridge nvidia is hopping onto the ivy bridge bandwagon. But their idea, is to bring ivy bridge into your favorite ultrabook. But this is to make your ultrabook, just that your ULTRABOOK , your computer that does it all.

Now I say tthis because it was tested that all ultrabooks with current Gen graphics? Can only handle 43% of current high framerate games. Nvidia says the bump to GeForce is well needed to reach ultrabooks out to everyone. They also said, with the bump of the nvidia add on to current ivy bridge chips, that all ultrabooks with it can easily handle all current Gen games easily at 30fps. Now when I say current Gen I mean the battlefields, and the arkham city's...definitely games with heavy demand on a CPU, and gpu. Hereis my question though, with ultrabooks already coming with an ultra price tag? How does this addition of ths best graphics processor affect the prices? Most ultrabooks already ring up just south of 1,000$. We all understand you get what you pay for, and with nvidia being the best, don't you have to then pay for the best? Then again, I think about what nvidia did to tegra 3 and mobile technology and I say to myself maybe they can make it affordable.

In the long run, technology always gets to the point where its affordable, tweaking it, and rebuilds makes everything possible. Research and development is constantly striving to bring premium builds to everyones office, laps and even their palms. We know that technologies such as solid state drives and high power gpu will eventually make it to the point where the average joe can walk into his computer store and just walk out with a better than average processor. How long this all takes? Is up to the r&d labs. But ivy bridge so far? Is spreading like wildfire.

When is 4G....not 4G

I just ran across an article saying that boost, and virgin mobile, the sub carriers of sprint will go ahead and tag onto sprints wimax network. They're set to release 4G handsets sometime soon is the rumor...which just leads me to the thought that lte will not launch when we really would love for it to. Sprints releasing lte handsets, which won't read 4G on your screen for well over a year. Its the original evo all over again...except the evo went from June to November without 4g....maybe sprint will have those test days such as the evo.

Well here's what I think, sprint has to push all the profits out of wimax that they can, pushing virgin, and boost to wimax (which should've been happened) proves they understand that wimax is officially a bust. Well the jump to lte proves that, but we all know that manufacturers do not want to keep producing wimax phones, which proves the lack of 4g devices for sprint. A manufacturer @IAmMissHawaii would have to continuously produce wimax variants of phones, which means they have to lease chipsets they'd rather not have produced when they know its unneeded. For sprints lte to do damage to the competition, its launch, and completion needs to be swift. The clear connection is definitely a great move, as clear is a cell based 4g network. And merging gives them coverage immediately on top of the towers they will have set up.

In the short term this will probably be a good move, but when those customers need to then convert to lte, how will sprint, boost, virgin convert these customers. Honestly I know some individuals who live on the smaller paygo networks it works for them. And now that boost and virgin mobile are on 4g they can have that high speed on a budget...so does this mean lte is imminent for them also? Ushering in any customer will be difficult. I guess we just have to wait and see what all will happen.

Mac os....

Well as we all know the current version of Mac Os is...x or 10. 10.8 to be exact, otherwise known as lion. And they claim it to be the fastest desktop Os available. Which may be true. The tests have been proven and it truly may be the fastest full Os available. But as we know 10.8 will be followed by 10.9...and then it will be time for Mac Os 11....what will 11 bring to us?

Well if my guess would be correct by the time Os 11 comes out they will have a complete new generation of desktops, and laptops to offer. As technology grows, so does our systems to run this technology. I remember in school, high school that is when Mac Os x first came out, and our classrooms had 1, count them 1 g5 tower per room. It put our little dells to shame. Mind you this was before third party software was making their applications for all operating systems, where now you can't find an application that doesn't work for all major systems. (Ubuntu, Linux, windows, Mac) so even though we had the system it didn't always work the way we truly wanted it to. But in terms of speed, lack of lagging? It put our windows XP machines to shame. This is what lion does right now to some windows 7 machines. And its weird to think that windows 8 may launch alongside the next Os x update (which would be 10.9) but still ahead of the full overhaul of 11. So is it possible that in terms of overall performance windows 8 can outclass Mac Os x? I honestly think so...but when 11 comes out? Microsoft will then need update for windows 8.

If my memory serves me correctly apple has always overhauled complete hardware alongside software overhauls...So what I'm saying is when Os 11 comes out we may witness the new generation of hardware builds for all the Mac systems. And here's what I think. The Mac mini? Will be a great selling point. As far as power the mini can hold its own, and the for factor is ridiculous, yet it packs so much power. With the evolution of flash memory and solid state drives? The mini will be the system that benefits most from Mac Os 11. That's just my opinion though. Nothing has been on the news about Os 11 except for that it'll definitely be made...I say next summer as lion is still somewaht fresh. keep in mind flash memory and ssd, as they will definitely take Os 11...over the edge as far as operating systems go.

Lets not forget desktop systems.

I realize with the evolution of mobile systems, we tend to forget about our home desktops, and even our laptops that's we use as our main connection to the world of Computing. The reason I begin this article this way? Is because windows is trying to bridge the home/mobile gap. Windows 8 is their attempt merge home and mobile into operating system harmony. Even recently it had been confirmed that desktop windows apps will be able to work on windows 8 tablets. And even now with that confirmed, the rumor had been going around that windows 8 would be tested on arm architecture, when it wasn't supposed to be stable on arm architecture.

Well, the rumor has surfaced about windows 8 being tested not only on arm, but the soon to be released exynos chipset. Does that mean Samsung would produce a windows 8 tablet? Or a windows 8 ultrabook? Either option is an amazing thought. Hypothetically can exynos power windows 8 as a main computer? Im asking this from the standpoint of an ultrabook being the main use of a consumer. I can understand exynos pushing a tablet as the system would be the lighter build and would work. But I guess If the chipset for the ultrabook would lack lte radio, more focus could go into overall performance right? A quad core chip for an ultrabook? Lets not forget apple supposedly tested the a5 for the MacBook air...which may also hint at the a6 handling more than just the next next ipad and the iPhone 5. If its built off of arm and windows 8 is testing arm, why can't Mac Os x?

Windows 8 beta releases have shown great speed, even up there with lion for Os x. Imagine the full Os for a tablet...I still say Google needs to make a chrome tablet, build it, price it at 199$. The chrome as an Os is brilliant, with most people constantly logged onto a network anyway chrome would suit a tablet perfectly,  seeing as to how so far its been somewhat of a bust. But I digress, I'm here on arm architecture and the possibilities of windows 8. Samsung could release a tablet for every flavor if they receive one of the first builds for arm chips...which could catapult not only windows but Samsung even further...hmmm? Decisions and research right?

Quick input about HTC.

Hey guys, I speak alot on the mobile market, but its because the mobile market is evolving so fast. The pace that it is moving is unlike any technology we've ever seen. This year HTC has poised itself to make a good year, especially after its loss. Signing the deal with Sony and PlayStation to bring PlayStation suite to HTC devices was a great move. And the one series can cement them this year and prove premium handsets don't just belong to Samsung. Speaking of the one series, there's one thing that it lacks...expandable memory but, comes in the HTC cloud service that they're bundling in with purchases of the one series devices. I forget it its 1 or 2 years free, but its 25 additional gb on top of the on board storage the devices have. So now we have the Google cloud, amazon cloud and bundle in a personalized HTC cloud? And now you have data, music, and media in many places. Expandable memory may soon be forgotten in the android community if we can move the masses into the cloud. Which personally I've joined. But why is it that they've tossed the micro SD slot? Tossing the slot slims the devices, which was a main complaint for most consumers...and yes I hear you out there saying the Droid razr offers expandable memory at 7.7 mm thin. Yes, but they also had to ad extra width to the phone to make everything possible. The one x? Got down to 8.9 its the slimmest HTC device we've ever seen. The removal of the SD slot made this possible, with the removal of expandable memory HTC integrated a free subscription to their cloud service with the purchase of your one series device. Now you may say I'm a fan of cloud services, and also how come the razr kept the SD card and slimmed in under 8mm? Well I ask you, how much real estate is On the side of the device? From the screen to the edges? There is quite a bit of extra space they left there. Now I'm just a young man with a blog, and an HTC phone and I'm jealous of the new owners receiving this perk just for purchasing a new phone...how about myself and legacy device owners (I.e sensation series) receiving a mini cloud. 3gb at best nothing major, just to play around with. This way we don't feel out of the loop. Im no CEO, I just have an opinion on these things and I feel its best to give perks to those loyal consumers. Especially those who love their sensations. I mean, the original sensations and the evo 3d just missed the whole beats integration, so are you going to make us miss out on this cloud service? Please don't. ... But its just a thought.

Samsung Pulled its two tablets?

I just stumbled over an article passing a rumor that the galaxy Tab 2 10.1 has halted production, or shall i say...It restarted its production, WITH THE EXYNOS CHIP INSIDE? Not the dual core chip, but the quad core chip. Im proud to see Samsung make this decision, as they're starting to fall in with the crowd, as far as tablets. They lead handsets as far as differentiating themselves, but sadly they were falling into the pool of sub par tablets, not to say they don't perform well, its just that with the ipad in terms of speed and consumer reliability. Ios works because the system is lighter, that's about it. Eventually Samsung will figure out ics and build the perfect tablet.

Exynos, can do for tablets, which hummingbird did for the nexus s. We all remember how great the nexus is don't we? The flagship device for Google and Samsung, a staple in the developer community, and one of the best single core chips to exist. Great battery management, excellent speed. Rendering graphics? It was top notch, playing videos was like nothing else (for single core chips) I remember when I saw the graphs for scores of the original evo against the nexus s, and the nexus s just edging out in some scores 

Here we go...my predictions?

Well it appears the rumor mill is once again spinning for who you guys? Apple of course, honestly does any other company out there suffer from more rumors than these guys? They tend to fight through verbal rumors, and never really stumble themselves onto physical rumors, the latest i believe being when it was confirmed the retina screen would grace "the new iPad". And now it seems my earlier prediction has come to the rumor limelight... If you guys follow me I've spoken maybe twice about predictions of an iPad mini...and with the release of the Galaxy note from samsung...It appears apple will indeed follow in the footsteps of the microtablet? 

Now when i say that the tablet market is finally to the point where we walk into our local electronics store and go ...."hmmm what to buy?" I mean that...Everyone that is important in the tablet mobile technology business, has made, or is definitely in post production of a tablet, Toshiba, Acer, Asus, Huawei, Sony, HTC...the list goes on....And by the way those are just our android tablets. We haven't even mentioned the hp tablets, Nokia has signed on to make a windows 8 tablet, which i feel if that is produced correctly can really give some tablets a run for their processing cores (if you know what i mean).

Apple has finally said to themselves, which they supposedly knew all along it would come to this....That maybe we need a secondary size option as far as our tablets is concerned...It isn't a size option if you ask me. Its time for Ios to be completely renovated anyway honestly. It took them 5 updates to get top down notifications, something android had been doing for years....and you didn't hear android file a lawsuit did you? No, (just a tidbit for you) Every year that android has come with a complete refresh something has been absolutely extraordinary, when it comes to ios..I honestly can tell much of a difference between 1 and 4...now maybe 4 and 5 ill say i see some differences, but not too many... Even when windows mobile did their refreshes they were quick and revolutionary (for windows). 6.5 to 7 altogether was a complete overhaul, symbian over the years? They changed drastically to evolve with the times...But apple? eeehhhhhh the only way i see this Mini ipad being a hot commodity besides the name itself is ios 6...and a complete overhaul of the system. Ios 6 would need some additions we've never experienced on a mobile system, i mean with java, and html5 some new ideas are endless. I just feel this has to be created correctly, not just the base of the device itself? but the complete package. But i guess the end of the year will tell?

Rooting...flashing...customizing and opening the possibilities of your device.

Well....I finally flashed me a new rom guys. It took me so long. Im currently using the latest version of infected rom their nightly to be exact as of April 12th. Ill provide a link for all of my rooted evo 3d users...as its pretty difficult for us to find stable ROMS. I have to say the rom.lacks 4g but makes up with a custom kernel with major overclocking abilities. 1.8ghz to be exact I don't need it as I stay around 1.5 but to know its possible and stable is a weight off my shoulders.

Now let me stop rambling about my rom and speak in depth about rooting and flashing. Some iPhone users will argue what's the point of rooting and flashing? Well specifically for android users it offers the abilities to your device not usually offered. See, as far as my evo? It began selling directly before HTC inked the deal with beats audio so it missed the beats integration and many who purchased the device, were very upset. But through tweaks and those brave enough in the developer community they brought it to us. Other great options for rooting include the removal of that pesky bloatware, such as Facebook apps that aren't removable, and older unneeded apps such as blockbuster (which I'm not even certain if they are still in existence, are they?)  Aside from that rooting offers display changes, because we all know default carrier setups aren't always visually appealing are they?

I've had 3 android devices one from kyocera which happened to be a mid level device and two superphones from HTC ... Both of which I rooted and played with, pushed them to the limits and learned all that I can learn about them. Now do I know everything? No, but I try my best to learn a little everyday as it will always help me. Every time I flash a new rom, I feel like a young child, I'm so anxious to see what it can do, what is it missing and what could make it better. Is any rom perfect? No, every rom doesn't have everything and with alpha and beta releases the developers learn what they are missing, what's needs to be tweaked and what the users are searching for. There are ROMS for everyone. ROMS focused on battery life, ROMS focused on pure performance. This infected rom is a mix of those as it offers some great life, with the high clock power, beats integration and the removal of bloatware.

Don't get me wrong this isn't a review of this rom, its a slight break down of the open source of android and how we can all do what we please with it. Any one of us can develop a rom with the time and patience (and proper tools and programs of course) is it easy? I don't think so. Is it fun? I believe creating your own rom is definitely fun, as your customizing the use of your device, looking for what suits you best, this is where ios users have that disconnect not understanding the pure customization of open sourced systems. They believe that ios being closed is perfect the way that it is...its fine for what it is and it works for its users but I can understand from using both systems why its great to have the ability to build yourself.

More about my trip to the store thos evening....

To open guys....all of us who felt 100$ would be too much for some ear buds...we're all wrong. Oh my goodness. I purchased some beats by Dre ear buds today (something I've had on my splurge list for a while now) and the sound quality and bass feedback? Is absolutely top notch.

The set i purchased is the set you use for your cell phone, ergo the reason they're only 100$. Included in the box is a manual, the ear buds, and many of the ear nubies for ears of all shapes and sizes. Did i mention a real leather carrying case? They even come with Velcro wrap to keep them safe from entanglement.

Now for what really matters....the sound? Is top notch the build of the headphones are somewhat like mini speakers in your ears the metal casing of each bud keeps sound iin and disperses it cleanly into your eardrum. Where most "heavy bass" buds have that opening on the bacck to allow air escape for food sound distribution? Monster enclosed it and has it bounce withon the drum.of the bud and your ear, the HD effect is absolutely clear. I don't even know if Bose could reproduce such a great sound for an earbud.  Even voice quality in calls are stupendous. Something you've never experienced, doesn't matter what carrier your on you will hear the person opposing you quite clear and the built in headphone captures sound very very nice, i did some voice recordings with background noise and what it picked up? Even i didn't think it wouldn't be able to. So those "what did you just say" moments? Can disappear.

The build of the cables you ask...well yes they are avg cords....but they're slightly thicker than average buds and where they are connected to the buds and jack? They have metallic protection to ensure longevity. I would've liked to see the cord be slightly longer as my older Sony buds were something like my height 6 feet and these are only around 4 and a quarter or so so there isn't any laying far from the device you're using.

Overall I've change my mind of my first thoughts of the ear buds...they're a great investment for any music enthusiast. With Pandora and my cloud music I'm very proud of my investment. If you guys feel otherwise i.understand and they're cheaper buds out there that offer great sound. But i trully agree with the build price, and sound quality they produce.

Took a small trip this evening.....

So i went to the store this evening ....i was going for some new headphones. Its funny the buds i ended up purchasing (as that's for.my next article) but i digress. This is about the PS vita....which sadly left me wanting so so much more you guys. I played the demos they provided for the store set, FIFA, a racing title and uncharted the Sony adventure game which is a large franchise on the home system now the racing game sadly i wanted more, i desired more speed from it....the overall framerate of it was outstanding but the speed displayed? I didn't agree with it at all. I didn't feel i was going 100+ MPH or anything i felt like i may have been going 60 or so....and the loading time for the level was atrocious. I mean i sat there for at least 70 scones watching the screen count load percentage....i felt like....a device with quad core capabilities? Shouldn't be so underwhelming.... And that's where the question lies. Is the quad core solely for the premises of graphics and not pure processing power? I feel that the exact game on a mobile device such as a gnex or a galaxy s would've loaded in 60% of that time...but then again? The frame rate might not compare? So i ask is the PS vita purely a port of good graohics and not am attempt to overtake personal devices? The original PSP did it all" albeit still on a disc system and yes at times the laoding was atrocious but we then understood why, but for something to be loading from flash memory? Why would it take so long? Is the vr ram still not enough? Now onto the screen....5 inches it is gorgeous i can't lie. I definitely would've liked to seen it be an HD screen though 720 of course the 480 is slowly becoming a thing of the speedy past of technology. Its difficult to fathom that Sony wouldn't have purchased HD screens for the device....not saying the screen disappoints because it doesn't. The response to touching is top notch definitely up there with the upper echelon of touch devices of course... And it renders colors quite nicely. I couldn't be more satisfied honestly. Its just that, with everyone transitioning to 720....how did Sony drop the ball on this? Gameplay of course the games themselves were great (after the loads) anyone of any age can appreciate the appearance of said games they really are on par with mobile gaming and top notch at that, i couldn't imagine anything less from Sony (in terms of selection) for the system.... As far as loading what I'm getting at is the loading is slow, which means your battery takes an unnecessary drain in loading more than actual play time of the device, our youth won't think of it that way but us older mobile gamers will go hey my battery is dead and ive spent 30 minutes in load screens. overall my 15 minutes or so with the vita was enjoyable. Would.i spend my money? No but thats because of the moves phones and tablets are making, third parties make add ons for phones that turn them into a full gaming system. For your little son or cousin I'd say get it for them, but my opinion is Sony needs a firmware update that opens the cores of the device more for processing as much as it does for gameplay. The vita won't be going anywhere anytime soon, and for the Nintendo 3ds it can definitely dethrone it....if the 3ds ever dethroned is older brother that is.

Well today news broke of one of the largest purchases in internet history, if not the largest on a scale of usage. Facebook purchased instagram, so if Ios users werent upset already, They definitely are now, as are Android owners. I mean the last thing to do now is to make it for blackberry users...and even windows phone and then instagram is its  own network...BUiT THIS CAN NO LONGER HAPPEN BECAUSE THATS THE REASON FACEBOOK PURCHASED THEM, facebook knew that instagram was gaining more recognition as a social network site than just a plce to upload beautiful photos, and they were fearing being third fiddle in the world of many social networks. (honestly i dont see how ther're 2nd fiddle but i guess that because g+ isn't as large yet)

The truth of the matter is, facebook was afraid, they can try as they might but they're afraid. It was in their best interest if they could buy them off...and long-term send them packing. Its brilliant by zuckerberg and a great use of an extra billion dollars....I just dont agree with Instagram selling themselves...period. they just released the great network to impatient android lovers, and then broke half of the networks hearts by selling themselves to the social networking devil. Facebook has been slowly (quickly) declining. And with their grubby paws in the development of Instagram I have no idea what they would be able to do.

I personally deleted my facebook account so as far as opinions on there? I have no clue how the connection is being received, but twitter does not agree with it in the slightest. I doubt it has anything to do with the twitter v facebook either. I just think consumers and socialites everywhere understand how facebook has decline and this union doesn't bode well for Instagram in the slightest. Its true that facebook has money, and a great Development department....and maybe it could help Instagram. Zuckerberg said thats Instagram would be staying its independent self....but honestly how long would he allow that? That would still mean Instagram can top facebook as a network...in terms of usage, not net worth of course, but how long until they would've passed Facebook in terms worth? They were spreading like wildfire, and in terms of spreading? With it being available on android...its 28 million users im sure would've quadrupled by the end of summer.

In this current world of social networking im certain we all have at least two networks we frequent...and Instagram isn't just that app to upload cute photos, oh no it was growing...or it is growing. We shall see wwhat the future holds for Instagram. Will it fall into the pool of forgotten networks thanks to facebook...and if thats the case it'll be the smartest use of money ever...in terms of extending the longevity of ones own network...so far this is a smart move zuckerberg.

Android users, if you have begun using instagram, a photo sharing application that decided to widen its user base by being listed among the google play apps, you may have noticed a rise in the tempers of iOS users. I am not surprised.

The iPhone, while a clever concept in the middle of last decade, has not made many changes. In fact, aside from a phone carrier's involvement and a chunkier design, there isn't much to separate this phone from its predecessor, the iPod Touch. And to be quite honest, this would not be a problem if technology weren't flying past the slightly dated device.

Android has advanced light years ahead of the other operating systems. This is due in no small part to the different manufacturers, the healthy competition inside of the Android community, and the developers, the little guys outside the companies... the ones that are always coming up with stellar ideas to make the phones even better.

So, taking this knowledge into account, iTouch... ahem, iPhone users rightfully state, "The Android has enough. Why should they have our Instagram too?"

Well I have to admit, having been an Android user for 3 years, I am taken aback by the whole "angry iPhone user" mentality. I think my Galaxy Nexus is the greatest phone ever released, to date, but Apple's no Blackberry. There is still hope. With a little reinvention & imagination, who knows? Apple may pass the Android up technologically someday.

My advice to iPhone users? Chin up. Things may get better. And if not? Well you will always be welcome here on #TeamAndroid. Trust me, it's much better to switch than to get mad over a picture sharing app that was "sacred" to you.

Motorola shall i continue?

Hey Motorola, yeah you...Mr all my eggs in one basket. Yes you know im talking to you. Dont you guys know HTC just reinvented themselves? Dont you realize that they've jumped on the bandwagon of every phone for everyone just as Samsung did? No? You didnt notice that? Shame on you.

Thats what a typical conversation between myself and Motorola would probably sound like, I bet your interested why? Well as I said in my last post Motorola puts all there eggs in one basket and makes certain that one phone does very well in sales, ergo the Droid family for Verizon. But its time they take a page from HTC and Samsung (yes ive said this but im gonna elaborate onto this thought).

Consumers love Motorola, honestly who doesn't? They can produce quality handsets, it just seems at times? They lack reinvention....mainly from handset to handset...take for example the Droid to the Droid 2 could you tell them apart? No you couldn't the only difference happened to be the internals...Droid x to the Droid x2? Exact same issue....now are the phones amazing devices? Yes they are there are still some Droid 2 owners with the device rooted who wouldn't care less that the device is aging quickly. I commend their spirits and love the fact that they can stick with a device for such a time.

Now to this HTC one series (which I also touched on in a past article) there are 3 devices in the family the HTC one x (international version) which is the high power tegra 3 lte HD monster. The HTC one x, which still counts as a high end superphone with its snapdragon s4 dual core professor beautiful 4.3 inch screen and lands in at 8.9mm thin. And the affordable (even off contract) HTC one v, this 3.7 inch screen single core device isn't to be overlooked as it still lands with ice cream sandwich just as its older brothers do. HTC provided you with 3 phones, in flavors that everyone could sip on.

Now Samsung...Sammy, the big company that does a little bit of everything and excels at it yes? The galaxy s series, Samsung bada, they produce their own chips...Samsung does it all. I would honestly say they need to reinvent themselves but since they do reach to all consumers they have that cushion whereas it isn't as large a deal as other companies. Is it true that amoled may be slightly dated now? Maybe but thats not why we're here today, we're here because they do things that Motorola could take a look into doing, providing handsets in all flavors, sizes, and budgets. I mean lets look at it...for sprint they have the transform series, low end phones that are very capable. But also the current generation of galaxy s known as the epic 4g touch. As far as att they have the captivate glide, a reinvent of the original captivate we witnessed over a year ago, with a keyboard added. But also they have the current Gen galaxy s...I mean they reach to everyone without forcing high end on you....sadly for their tablets? This idea hasn't trickled down...but who's to say this won't happen right?

Motorola? I implore you to hop onto the quad core war...as u guys are losing that, Samsung has exynos on deck and the one x by HTC is landing with tegra 3 in tow. Being with ti, and qualcomm is sorely dampening your r&d department and its about time you venture out and make some new things happen, maybe take the apple approach and contract a company to exclusively make chips for you. At this point it isn't such a bad idea, but what do I know right? Im just an avid consumer with a lust for technology.

The year in mobile handsets...

<p>So...ive touched Nokia, HTC, Samsung, and blackberry...shall I provide input on Motorola? I mean....they made a huge splash with the razr. And the razr maxx an lte device with 24hr talk time was just what the doctor ordered, but the og slider Droid finally landed with lte...maybe a little too late. The public had been crying for their slider droids to use lte for a little too long, And when the Droid 4 arrived the reaction to it was just mediocre. The xyboards landed but with apple cornering the tablet market, they're just another tablet in the tech jungle, where the ipad is King.

To open, Motorola has been quiet past ics updates for devices. Yet Google has purchased Motorola mobility, and ideas have been floating with the use of Motorola's settop cable boxes Google may launch a cable service...this would be epic for both brands. Yet ill save that for a future writeup...ill let you guys turn those wheels yourself. The future for Motorola is foggy, I don't mean from a profitability standpoint, but from a device standpoint. The xoom 2 came out...did any of you guys even know that? Motorola releases devices thats we have no knowledge of (unless they're on Verizon) I mean the photon for sprint is an amazing device yet do we know about it? They even released the atrix 2 for att quite awhile back....you guys remember dont you? But the razr and razr maxx...we saw that everywhere didnt we? Billboards? Commercial airtime in a frenzy....but the smaller devices? We never knew of .... Motorola places their eggs in one basket. Knowing that the device will sell. Yet, other great devices they let release and just sit on shelves. It must be a certain contract they have with Verizon, who knows? But I would love to see Motorola market devices way better than what they do. I mean,  look at Samsung, they have promoted tthe galaxy note around the clock, and even the galaxy SII still is seen in daily rotation....maybe you should take a note from Samsung guys....just a thought.

Now for nokia? What are they planning?

So Nokia...hold on. Let me start this off correctly. Ive given my input on apple, and I just viciously assaulted blackberry, but to be honest they had it coming. Now lets move on to my favorite little company that could. Drumroll please .... NOKIA!!!! So the little company that could, as I like to call them have been making some ginormous gambles...discontinuing symbian (for the most part) jumping ship to windows phone, and putting all their chips into the pureview 808...not to mention rumors of a windows 8 tablet.

Lets start off with the bad shall we...across the pond in certain parts of Europe where Nokia happened to be the leader among handsets, subsequently thr jump from symbian has booted them from that throne...it doesn't mean necessarily negative sales but the windows phone jump did dampen their sales, for the time being. But what's this phone that stumbled out and had mwc in an uproar? The 808 pureview pushing an astounding 41mp into a phone...yes I said it a device in which we make calls on. Sadly with this camera on the device? The phone isn't meant to be your superphone, it isn't replacing your iPhone, or your galaxy nexus, but avid picture takers and those who love candid moments and dont mind having a phone that lacks superpowers? This is the device for you. Also on the roadmap they just released the lumia 900 which may be the best windows phone available, not to mention the tablet we're hearing rumors of (windows 8 of course) Nokia is definitely setting themself up for a strong year...the thing is they haven't completely tossed symbian aside yet they've just dropped the symbian moniker and codenamed the final releases of it...the last of it being seen on the pureview.

I would love tto see Nokia make a device that makes me change my android fanboyness because what they've accomplished up untouched this moment has been simply exhilarating. From the classics we've cone to known, to revolutionizing messaging phones...to even being the first tablet devices to own flash capabilities. Nokia did things first, or even did things better than the original. I can see them FIXING windows phone and revolutionizing the way we use cameras on devices we talk on..seeing as to how HTC has followed suite with image sense yes? We shall see how the year ends for Nokia...returning to king of Europe? .of sure but gaining back those lost sales? I think so.

Let us revisit something....Shall we?

Blackberry? Bb? The phones and tablet(s) produced to us by RIM (Research in motion) what a great name seeing aas to how the motion their research has been going in is backwards huh? At one time bb looked to be on the verge of folding( not sure how far away from folding they are) but currently they have some moves being made that just may launch them....(or keep them afloat) back into the phone wars.

So here we are well over a year after the Playbook has been launched and we're just now getting an os update (as of a month ago) and its been announced that there will be an lte version of the tablet. Why a year later? When every tablet that seemingly launches, launches with the letter/number combination 4G in its notification bar? .... I have no clue. You have to realize that bb was late to the lte party...heck 4g in general I mean even sprint had wimax to show as a 4G network. So why did it take bb thia long to make the 4G edition of the tablet, Furthermore why is it that bb owners will stay with blackberry with a sub par os, mid level app support and store, and behind the curve devices? (no thats not a pun).

In order for blackberry to have survived(stronger that what they will) they should've sold the portfolios. It would've done wonders for them from the standpoint that outside developers (I.e open source android geeks and nerds) would've catapulted the os to heights unseen. I mean look at HP...they are down but not out and they have a game plan thats just may help them get to a position where they can float comfortably. They had the touchpad sold cheap on two fire sale occasions, knowing that the android fanboys would love a solid device, for cheap, thats can easily be tinkerer with. They even went as far as to open the source code for web os...which is now deemed openWeb os.

So I say to you, RIM and blackberry make some moves fast....step away from this....business savvy device moniker you stick to and release more consumer related phones yes? Release an all touched device with an amoled 4.3 inch 720p pure HD screen. With a great dual core processor. Load it with the secretive bb os 10 and put all your chips in. Market it with blood, sweat, tears. Step on the little man and get yourself back to a point where I dont look at a blackberry and go....blegh why is that in the case....please? For me? If not anyone else.

Why are iOs users so upset?

Unless you've been living under a rock...like ive somewhat been honestly. You know that 2 of ios hottest apps landed on Android in the past week or so. Temple run (March 30) and the largest photo sharing network known to man (Instagram)

Due to this loss of exclusivity the iPhone v android war is now stronger than ever...but I must ask. Ios users why are u so upset? You still corner the tablet market and most profitable app market. Your cloud, I must say is better than Google's...until they support pictures as u do. I would still say iPhone is better (but in my opinion is it isn't.) Solely because of it lack of support, and by support I mean wide usage of devices. I mean u can only count 3 devices (4 if the Nano counts as a miniature version of ios)

To place things into perspective the open source of android is beginning to take its toll on apple, and I can understand why, great apps that ios users have (mainly games per say) have been ported over to android. From fruit ninja, now to I believe the most downloaded (at the time) ios game temple run. Ios users must also pay for the full version of angry bird whereas androids? Is free 0_0 free u say? and we must pay? This is an outrage! I couldn't understand the feeling as angry birds across all 4 versions have upwards of 1000 playable levels. For Ios they have the game center going for them, but on the android spectrum some games support openfeint, it isn't comparable to gamecenter but its definitely a step on the right direction as far as leaderboards and everything goes.

I will say this 1 Thing, ios 6 needs to bring the pain to android, can apple make it happen? We shall see, will they make it happen sadly I doubt it as android has consumers on the open source loving their devices...but I guess the end of this year will bring something amazing from apple....hopefully.

Htc and the one series....direct competition with samsungs galaxy s?

How can HTC finally catapult themselves to greatness? Is it a dual core device? Is it a slimmer device? And HD screen? How about an amazing camera? ....how about we take a little of everything sprinkle it across a set amount of devices, amd release a variant for multiple carriers? Enter the one series.

Now HTC has finally answered critics (I.e. myself) questions on what they will do to squash batter issues, sense issues, sub par camera issues, albeit HTC does great as far as sales, consumers are still left desiring more out of their devices. The main problem being battery life. Now these new one series devices claim to change all if the old conplaines, from sub par camera processing with new imagesense technology, to better battery life with the one x boasting the largest battery seen on an HTC handset. Early reviews of sense 4.0 have been all positive, smooth, transitions easily with ics. And the all around appearance of it isn't too aggravating. Now the main point of these new handsets happens to be the image sense. New camera sensors capture photos cleanly even at high speeds. It renders light beautifully and offers continuous capture. I would love to know what company they used but I haven't stumbled on this info...maybe im not searching hard enough but I digress, my apologies. All major carriers are receiving a variant ...except for big red? Really now so what vz exclusive device will they receive? The rumor is the incredible 3...which I think wouldn't dive too far away from the one series anyway but, thats just my opinion. I use sprint and their lte is moving along and the one series variant has been spotted, confirmed and even caught in the wild ....so until they all land. We just have hope and prayers.
