Just some word vomit....

Hey guys lately I know I've tweets quite a bit of wanting a new device....and with all of the devices android offers, I feel like I'm stuck between a microchip and a bright screen...(if that makes sense). HTC has the one x, with tegra 3 but it lacks lte, and Samsung has the well established Galaxy Nexus. Which has many roms, it may be the most supported ics device out right now. We all know that I will root it and push it to the limit.

Now we have a swarm of devices I've had the chance to tinker with, the Galaxy Note I've played with...and then I've seen the LG nitro...I've heard many great things about the razr and they even have a leaked full ics rom for the device. My major problem is that my device (evo 3d) isn't as ics supported as I'd like it to be and that's mostly the reason I'm ready to upgrade...(and due to the fact that I love to have the latest technology when I can). HTC has promised ics, but has yet to deliver, which is stressful because it makes things for the development community hard to make the most stable roms that they can.

Jumping os ship is out of the question for me as I don't like windows phone, the system is entirely too simplistic. But I know what my decision is, and to make it worst sprint sent me an email this morning saying hey James, upgrade early. The problem being its still wimax devices and I wouldn't still be somewhat forced into an lte device (not forced as much as ushered but you understand what I mean). Its just something I dread, loving technology so much and needing the best device for me. But hey don't we all go through this?

Well we have our next generation...

@

Well we have our next generation...Of smartphones that is. With the imminent release of the galaxy sIII. We have that, the one x. And yes surprisingly we keep the iPhone 4s up there for some reason... When I say this we think what about windows phone? Aha! Yes the nokia lumia 900.

Now I know for a windows phone, it still isn't dual core, but that clearblack LCD screen and the Carl Zeiss optics are amazing. And with windows 8 coming I'm sure that all phones released in the last few months on windows platform will benefit from the upgrade. Now I know windows phone 8 will be completely separate from its father os, but I know in the coming months there will be leaks, and builds of 8 that will make those who purchased windows phone devices very happy. If you're accustomed to windows, and you love supporting Microsoft. Im sure the lumia is the perfect device for you. Now we still set the iPhone 4s in these talks mainly because of updates to ios and the way ios takes advantage of the CPU build. So it can always stay in competition. Cult fanatics hold their iPhones dear to them and I guess I can undertand...I have a funny story for you guys though. My supervisor, just yesterday was telling me how he's so happy that he switched from ios to android. He had an older 3gs and his first upgrade was to a galaxy s2 skyrocket, shortly after that released Samsung released the galaxy note. And he said his eyes lit up. He knew that the 5.3 inch screen would do wonders for him and the company. He says its the best upgrade he's ever done. He said he loves androids Widgets, and the built in editing apps for the note are absolutely top notch. And of course the lone downfall of the device or android was the fact that it takes forever for the devices to receive system updates. He understood why and knows that he just has to be patient. Looking at him with that sleek device though....made me want it. But truly I don't need it(but it would definitely help with tons of things). Then we have the devices that'll be at the forefront of tthe android fight for your wallet, the One X by HTC, and the very beautiful Galaxy sIII by Samsung. Honestly I'm not certain if the fight is fair, seeing as to how the Galaxy s3 will have quad core, and only the international version of the one x will be the tegra 3 chipset. (4+1) but you cannot count out the nigh American version of the one x though, speed tests have been at the top of the charts for current specs and speeds. Even beating the galaxy nexus, as far as dual core devices go...and keeping with its Tegra 3 twin. By the time the one x hits full stride, and receives and update the galaxy s3 will be out and to the public and the android war will begin. But the older device still waiting on ics would love to hold out, but honestly we know we're all getting impatient. In closing I would love to make a point, apple still contracts overseas companies and keeps trouble at their front door, while Samsung dips their hands into a little bit of everything. Its insanely intelligent and downright diabolical at times. But with the gs3 and them completely producing it themselves? This year will be a gorgeous year for Samsung....Either way.

So samsung did it guys....

Here we are the day after the reveal...and I knew it, Samsung did it, they combined grace, a beautiful bright screen, with 4 cores and Lte (or hspa+ if you purchase the GSM version) a weird thing I've seen, and this is between my personal account and CCT are people who seem as if they aren't impressed? I understand the build of it is very straightforward, because it is, its very simplistic but I understand what they're doing, staying in the galaxy s line. It isn't supposed to be the most visially appealing device. Its build for performance. And first speed tests are coming back very positive from what I'm reading. I still cannot get past that screen, I wish I was there in person, I'm just working towards these dreams of being at big device reveals. This way I can report in real time, instead of hours later after I've grabbed info from sources. The biggest news to me is the dropbox integration, mainly because the device offers on board of 16, 32, and 64 gb  which is expandable and on top of that up to 50 gb of dropbox storage upon activation? Score one for Samsung...I said a few weeks ago Samsung needs to score some cloud contract and bam, what did they do? Blew HTC out of the water. Honestly 25gb or 50gb its free any way it goes who can complain? This device may not revolutionize devices, but the chip does...this only sets the next line of tablets up and to be honest I was more worried about the exynos chip carrying lte than I was the device being beautiful. This now means that the next wave of tablets are quad core, and will tote lte...hey Samsung. The ball is totally in your court.

Quad core chips...and lte

Well as the time approaches for the galaxy s3 reveal...I spoke on it in my last article. But this article is dedicated to it. Quad core chips and the lack of lte integration (so far). I just scrubbed the web a little bit looking at a few major companies, or at least the major companies for devices that land on our side of the pond. I stills arrived with no answer. Everyone's roadmap says end of the year, with no further information of lte integration, even with the s3 launching today, we're still uncertain if there are 2 versions, or if it even carries the amazing quad core exynos in the first place.

I would like to say this. Eventually developers will get it right, they'll find the missing link between lte and 4 cores. And with everyone's quad chips landing after samsungs, If they don't get it correct everyone else will try where they dropped the ball. Qualcomm, and the snapdragon line says q4 this year for their quad core chip to land in a device, as does Texas instruments and their line of Knapp processors. Even with 4 cores becoming the new premium. Omap and Samsung have dual core chips in line on the new arm cortex a15 architecture. Im just beyond stoked to see what these can do as a9 have been the leading architecture for quite a while now. And I can see omap knocking it out the park (lets not forget its an omap chip inside the great galaxy nexus). Texas instruments even went into the amazon kindle fire, and we know how consumers fell in love with that. So imagine of ti drops the omap with a15 besides the exynos with a15....it'll be a battle of whatever devices will tote these chips. A battle I would love to sit back and watch (or test by that time) This isn't happening until the end of the year but ill dream weekly of it.

We know those chips will tote lte, that'll be a given but the developers need to get lte on the quad core chips as even smaller carriers are jumping onto lte. The world is moving into 4g and chips need to keep up...so far I feel they may be a tad behind as we've been speaking on the 4core generation for a while now, yet we only have 1 phone with 4 cores, and it isn't even on this side of the ocean. I pray Samsung get this right and has lte on 4 cores instead of reverting back to the snapdragon s4....I would love to see Samsung make all the profit and not have to share at all...That's selfish of me I understand. But think of it this way the s4 is in the American version of the one x...and we all know that will sell like hotcakes. I want the battle of the new 2 superphones to be of two different chips...not just 2 separate devices. Where is the fun in that?

Today is the reveal

Today is the bog reveal for the galaxy s3 by Samsung...sporting a 4.9 inch screen. Which is bringing some new visually technology in tote, also its rumored to have the exynos quad core chip pushing all that it can do...But you know what rumor I read? That this chip still isn't lte packed. And it brought me to think, what's up with 4 cores and lte integration?

Another phone that has an international version, but the north American version has a dual core CPU to integrate 4g...is the HTC one x....the flagship phone which needs to stay dual core to bring lte to America. My main thought would be if anyone can bring an lte radio to a quad core device it'll be Samsung to do it first, I understand why nvidia couldn't do it as lte isn't a priority....Their chips are build for speed not so much data. When the transformer prime landed I'm pretty sure they were thinking, everyone will have wifi so it lacking shouldn't be  the largest issue...which they were sadly wrong about that weren't they? Now that chip landed inside the one x (international version) without lte, when we in America are patiently awaiting an lte, quad core device. Now I remember saying it a few weeks ago that Samsung can corner the market with this device (I'm changing this) they only can corner the market if they can pull lte together with a quad core device ..... Think about it people, we in America have wanted a quad core device for awhile now. Id like to think apple made it worst assuring they had a quad core device coming immediately, sadly they didn't deliver with the new ipad. Surprisingly that didn't leave a bad taste in America's mouth as I thought it would.... But even then maybe I should've figured it out huh?

4 cores and lte integration is something difficult apparently, and I think if samaung can't do it with their r&d team...I'm not sure who will make it happen. But the next in line for their quad for chip to release is Texas instruments I believe, which would be an absolute score for them...I just wonder what handset, or device it will land in (whoever makes it that is).
